Structural steel and Cladding

Structural steel is where MRN started and where our deepest experience sits

Steel fabrication, structural installation, and licensed roof plumbing delivered in-house by the team that has been doing this work across Southern NSW and North East Victoria for over 15 years.

Structural Steel & Roofing

From the frame to the ridge cap all of it under one licence, delivered by the same team.

MRN Sheds holds both a Builder Licence and a Roof Plumbing Licence which means the full structural and roofing scope of a construction project can be delivered under one team with full legal accountability. You don’t co-ordinate a structural steel company and a separate roofing contractor. MRN does both.

Structural steel is the foundation of MRN’s business. Mitch built the company from hands-on rigging and structural steel work, and that on-site experience shapes how every project is run today. We know the material, the process, and the standards not from a project management desk, but from years of being on the tools.

our scope

Every trade you need already on the team

Structural Steel

MRN’s structural steel capability covers the full scope of commercial and industrial steel construction from frame design co-ordination and material supply through to erection, connection, and commissioning. Our in-house structural steel and rigging team does the work directly, under our builder licence and with direct accountability for the finished structure.

What we deliver
  • Structural steel supply — sourced, scheduled, and delivered to site on programme
  • Steel frame erection — columns, rafters, purlins, girts, and bracing
  • Bolted and welded connections — to certified structural engineering specification
  • Crane lifts and rigging — co-ordinated lift plans for structural steel at height
  • Overhead crane provisions — runway beams and rail integrated into the frame
  • Mezzanine structures — engineered floor levels within the building envelope
  • Custom fabrication — non-standard connections and bespoke structural elements

Item

MRN’s approach

Steel sections

Universal beams, columns, RHS, SHS, and CHS sourced and supplied as part of the build. Custom profiles fabricated in-house where required.

Structural engineering

Certified structural engineering is arranged and managed by MRN covering wind loads, snow loads, crane loads, and floor loading. Included in the quote.

Connection design

Bolted connections to structural engineering drawings. Welded connections where specified carried out by MRN’s in-house boilermakers.

Crane provisions

Runway beams, crane rail, and end stops can be integrated into the structural frame during erection designed around the specified crane class and capacity.

Surface treatment

Primer and protective coating applied to structural steel where specified. External trades engaged for final coating systems where required.

Inspections and certification

Required structural inspections managed by MRN and co-ordinated with the certifying engineer. Certificate of Occupancy facilitated at handover.

Cladding

MRN holds a Roof Plumbing Licence which means roofing work is delivered under our own licence, not outsourced to a separate trade. This covers the full scope of roof installation and roof plumbing, from the structural roofing profile through to gutters, downpipes, box gutters, flashings, and drainage. Getting roofing right the first time eliminates one of the most expensive post-construction problems.

What we deliver
  • Colorbond roofing — corrugated, trough, and concealed-fix profiles
  • Standing seam cladding — for commercial and architectural applications
  • Gutters and downpipes — quad, half-round, and custom profiles
  • Box gutters — designed and installed to handle high-volume stormwater
  • Flashings and penetrations — all roof penetrations sealed and flashed correctly
  • Rainwater systems — tanks, first-flush diverters, and agricultural water capture

MRN Rigging and construction recently designed and built my new dream shed in East Albury. Jordan and the MRN team shared their experience and knowledge and ideas to help me come up with the ideal shed and features to suit my business. The shed is my workshop and perfect storage solution and suits my block and surrounds perfectly. Jordan and Mitch have the best trades people on their team and their chosen subcontractors were all excellent, skilled, punctual and great workers.
I can highly recommend MRN, they made the whole process of design and building and construction streamlined and stress free. I have also worked in one of their large shed constructions and these guys are amazing at what they do and can do.
From a workshop shed like mine to a huge industrial complex MRN have the proven skills and knowledge to build what they promise. A great shed!
Thank you Jordan, Mitch and the MRN team! you guys rock!

D. Penglis

After looking at some photos from MRN my shed is a baby at 18×9×3.2, but what a fantastic job Mitch and the team did. Communication was foremost from the office and Mitch gave updates along the way.
Very professional, precise work and my shed will be there for a long time. 6 months later and the power has finally been connected and the boys dropped in after a hard days work to calibrate the roller doors as part of the service. Highly recommend MRN for your shed adventure.

K. Thomas

Mitchell and his team are exceptional, professional and nothing is too much trouble. Kept us informed every step of the way. Highly recommended this team to build the shed of your dreams. 10 ⭐️
